2015 will see our national expansion program come to fruition with a target to have a commercial dive operation in Sydney, NSW and a commercial dive operation in Darwin, NT. This will only add to our capability allowing a fast mobilisation nationwide 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Franmarine Underwater Services, established in 1981, is the most experienced onshore commercial diving company operating in Western Australia. Gage Roads Diving, established in 2011, performs required services for offshore projects and conforms to all required legislation. Combined they are GRD Franmarine and specialise in, but are not limited to, in-water surveys and inspections, corrosion control and protection, subsea welding, salvage, subsea drilling, pipeline installation, subsea construction, mooring installation and maintenance, hull cleaning and a wide range of offshore services to the oil and gas industry.

GRD Franmarine has a range of patented products and services that are unique. This innovative range consists of the Ezyrider Mooring and Offset Anchor System, revolutionary scouring and dredging technology, underwater epoxy coat paint system and the Envirocart.
The prestigious Golden Gecko Award for environmental excellence was achieved in 2000 for Franmarine’s advances and innovations with seagrass protection. In 2013 we were awarded the Golden Gecko Certificate of Merit for our Envirocart then in 2014 we were awarded the Golden Gecko Award for Environmental Excellence for the removal of potentially harmful biofouling using the 'Envirocart'.
Commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Franmarine operates under DNV-GL ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management systems. The Company has undergone third party certification from NOPSEMA in respect to Diving Managment Systems and presently holds the following Classification Society approvals: American Bureau of Shipping, Nippon Kaiji, DNVGL, Lloyds Register of Shipping and Bureau Veritas relating to our commercial diving operations. Included within our quality management system are the following key elements:
- HSEQ Management Manual;
- Diving Safety Management System;
- Operations and Procedures Manual; and
- Detailed environmental management and risk management plans.
All diving operations are conducted in accordance with Australian statutory requirements.
